Job Summary
The Fiber Splicer Supervisor is responsible through in-house and contract labor for new construction, maintenance and rebuild projects. Responsible for safety and quality of work performed within the construction department.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Valid drivers license
- Must be able to read and understand prints.
- 3 years construction work experience
- 1 years Leadership experience
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, manpower and equipment needed.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, DOT and OSHA regulations and strategies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
- Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.
- Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
- Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
- Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
- Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Confer with Project Manager, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
- Reconcile submitted invoices to work completed in the field.
- Order or requisition materials or supplies.
- Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
- Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.
- Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
- Ensure required reports are timely, accurate and complete
- Establish positive employee relations through effective communication and ongoing support.
- Help workers engaged in construction or extraction activities, using hand tools or other equipment.
- Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.
- Review and process damage claims.
- Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or hires.
- Follow and enforce the Companys policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as requested by the manager.
