About the Liliʻuokalani CenterThe Liliʻuokalani Center (LC) is a comprehensive demonstration project powered by Liliʻuokalani Trust’s Youth Development initiatives. The Center will provide kamaliʻi with access to an array of multi-disciplinary programs focused on creativity, play, technology, and leadership and will be comprised of a variety of learning spaces furnished with innovational resources and equipment for each of the different disciplines for beneficiaries to explore and develop skills, knowledge, and talent. Job PurposeThe Director, Engagement will guide and oversee the design, development, and implementation of innovative and diverse youth programming for the Liliʻuokalani Center. In collaboration with the Managing Director, Youth Programs, this position will be responsible for developing and nurturing a network of internal and external partners to engage in active programming that is culturally-competent, trauma-informed, impactful, and enriching. The Director, Engagement will also develop and maintain a network of experts, educators, and coaches to support LC’s program implementation and delivery throughout the year. This role is responsible for setting expectations, goals, and success measurements to evaluate the progression and effectiveness of all LC programs.  Essential Responsibilities Youth ProgrammingReports and works collaboratively with Managing Director, Youth Programs , and co-leadership team.Maintains operation of all programs and services for LC with excellence, low barrier access, and safe environment for all kamali’i, staff, and participant community (kupuna, teaching artists, coaches, and peers). Provides direction for innovative, high-quality programs, with a trauma focus, low barrier access, and developmentally appropriate.Directly supervises managers for Olino Pathways (technology, entrepreneurship, arts, and sports), Supportive Services (education, financial stability, and wellness), and Partnerships.Designs and supports Lili’uokalani Center (LC) in developing and maintaining strength based, culturally grounded, innovative, high-quality programs, maintaining a trauma and developmentally appropriate focus.Strengthens supportive services in education, financial stability, wellness focused on socio emotional supportEngages and vets local and national partnerships as a network of support for kamali’i. Strategic Management and AdministrationRecruits, oversees and leads a team of professionals to deliver high quality and impactful youth programs for LC. Cultivates and nurtures inclusive presence of kamali’i voice and leadership in shaping and maintenance of state of the art, culturally rich programs.Mentors continuous trauma focused, safe-caring, growth mindset and collaborative environment for teammates through professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and support of direct reports.Maintains schedule and curation of activities and events for the Center’s operation.Oversees budgeting, implementation, evaluation, and reporting for LC programs.Supports records and data into a database, for the purpose to design and evaluate outcomes and impact analysis of programs. Collaborates with Research and Evaluation in the review of analyses and projections that can be incorporated in strategic decision making. Utilizes data and reports to update and inform leadership of emerging issues resulting in clear audits and positive reviews from Court Master.      OtherContributes to LT’s success through collaboration, communication, and knowledge-sharing with all teammates to improve team and organizational results. Performs other duties as needed and assigned. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in education, curriculum development, business, technology, or other related field. Master’s degree, desirable. 5 years of experience working with youth preferred. 3 years preferred managing a high performing team.Experience managing complex projects or programs in education, multimedia technology, application development and new learning technologies.Experience in business/project management or equivalent functional area . At least 1 year in supervisory/leadership capacity. Capacity to perform frontline work in different settings (schools, public spaces, office, distressed communities, etc.)  Proficiency working with MS Office Suite. Experience working in a MAC environment is helpful.
