Senior Bookkeeper - Sioux Falls, SD
Consistent with the vision and values of Limestone, Inc., a Senior Professional Bookkeeper will provide controller level services to Limestone clients. Ensure quality of client services by performing reviews of staff work. Provide coaching to clients and Limestone team members related to business and accounting best practices.
What you do!
Business Development – 25% of your time
- Brand development and sales in the local market
- Develop relationships with service clubs and business leaders within a 30 mile radius of your location
- Organize and implement local marketing efforts to raise community awareness of Limestone services
- Work with Limestone Business Development staff to meet with and close new clients
Manage team deliverables related to clients and internal systems – 50%
- Have fun and promote a positive attitude to clients and team members.
- Review the work of team members and provided feedback to ensure clients receive the highest quality in the following areas: (from the Full-Charge Bookkeeper job description)
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Payroll
- Account Reconciliation
- Financial Statements
- Tax Filing
- Tax Preparation – Working internally or with CPA partners
- Manage onboarding of new clients to the team, including cleanup strategy and internal processes
- Meet with clients as needed and provide general business analysis using Limestone tools
- Invoice clients monthly for services provided by you and your fellow team members
Be responsible and communicate effectively with clients and staff – 15%
- This position is extremely hands-on and detail-oriented. Limestone staff members need to be self-reliant and responsible for managing tasks and deadlines. These include but are not limited to:
- Use team calendar to schedule appointments for client work and internal meetings
- Use task management software to keep track of client and Limestone tasks
- Use time tracking software to keep track of billable and non-billable time
- Communicate effectively through voice/text/email with clients and fellow staff members using professional language that is consistent with the vision and values of Limestone
- Work closely with corporate leaders to keep team and clients informed
- The ability to present information to clients and fellow staff members is critical. Limestone employees must be able to define problems, collect data accurately, establish reliable facts and draw valid conclusions.
Self-improvement and continuous education – 10% of your time
- Attend weekly training meetings and contribute to discussions
- Participate in companywide training events
- Use internal and external resources to become a subject matter expert
- Perform other duties as assigned

What competencies you should have!
Education and Experience:
• Bachelors Degree in Business or Accounting
• 5 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting
• Controller-level experience preferred
Business Systems Knowledge:
• Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Small business accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online)
• Google Suite, Zoom, Ebility
What is our work environment!
Work can be performed at our Sioux Falls office or at the client’s facility (not a remote position). Minimal travel within 30 miles of Limestone's office may be expected. Occasionally, you may be required to work more hours than normal during a regular workweek depending on workload and deadline requirements. All staff are provided the appropriate technology to perform their work effectively.

- Competitive compensation $60,000-$75,000 per year DOE with performance benchmark increases expected in year one
- Mileage reimbursement of $150 per paycheck
- Cell phone stipend of $50 per paycheck
