The Role at a Glance
We're excited to bring on an Actuary, Life Valuation & Modeling. In this role you will be responsible for leading Life modeling initiatives with a focus on stat projection model improvement. The individual will work with other teams to identify areas of the model projection that do not align well with recent reported actuals, then strategize and implement targeted improvements necessary to give senior management confidence in long term modeled profitability of the Life Insurance business down to the product level.
What you'll be doing
- Liability Cash Flow Model Enhancement: Develop new assumptions and modeling techniques in MG-ALFA to align modeled cash flows with reported actuals and company experience data.
- Pre-PBR Reserve Projection Enhancement: Implement reserve logic changes within MG-ALFA formula database to align modeled reserves to reported actuals and relevant regulations.
- Model Change Communication: Effectively communicate complex modeling concepts to senior management and peers verbally, visually, and in writing.
- Model Documentation: Create thorough documentation of all model changes that can be used to communicate modeling techniques to peers, governance teams, and auditors.
What we're looking for
Must-have:
- FSA designation or ASA designation with additional years' actuarial experience
- 6 years of experience in Actuarial positions that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of the position.
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative major is required.
- Life product knowledge and general insurance business knowledge
- Modeling skills: proficiency in MG-ALFA
- Priority setting, time management and organizational skills
- Analytical skills: ability to think critically, identify, and solve potential challenges
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, adaptable to a wide variety of audiences throughout Lincoln's organizational structure
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of GAAP/Stat/CFT reporting, including LDTI and PBR is preferred
- Technical and programming skills in database and analytical technologies, such as SQL, Tableau etc
- History of innovation and process improvement

Pay Range: $102,301 - $184,500
Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
