The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on a Director for Account Management to join our Group Protection Distribution Team supporting Workplace Solutions in the Western region (working from home; however, located within the region).

Background Details

On the Group Protection Distribution Team, you will provide leadership, coaching and development to your team of Account Managers within the prospective territories to ensure results for their areas over oversight.

As a Director of Account Management for Group Benefits, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive customer service experience for our clients within your territory. You will provide oversight on renewals, retention and sales management to drive new business and persistency for inforce business. You will assist in the development and execution across regions for achievement of sales goals and market plans that influence profitability and persistency. You will build and foster effective relationships, internally/externally, to influence retention and sales. If this sounds like a role for you, please read on!

What you'll be doing

  • You will lead a dynamic team in an environment that is constantly changing. Provide training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and give honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent. You will direct and evaluate individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • You will identify and direct the implementation of process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the department.

  • You will attend broker/client meetings as needed to represent account management. In addition, direct analysis to identify trends, summarizing findings and providing quarterly reports on team performance metrics to management

  • You will establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with key internal stakeholders across the functional areas while acting as a resource for team members on more complex assignments/projects to improve the broker/customer experience.

  • You will partner closely with sales to identify segmentation needs, assignments, and goals within different marketplace territories and to develop plans to achieve. You will effectively collaborate with leaders to define expectations and communicate with their teams on the execution of sales plans.

Must-have experience (Required):

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)

  • Leadership experience

  • Experience working with clients/brokers

  • Account management and/or distribution experience (sales/account management, etc.)

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 50%
