It’s an exciting time for Consumer Insights at Lincoln Financial Group, as we are growing and shaping the consumer insights practice and its impact in the organization. As a Consumer Insights Analyst you will serve as a subject matter expert and will be responsible for educating internal partners on important consumer trends and show the value of consumer data on all phases of business growth and go-to-market strategy, including identifying and sizing new business opportunities, forecasting key trends and developing target consumer profiles and personas. In this role you will influence advertising and brand strategy, inform innovation and product development teams, and help shape a customer-centric culture by promoting insights and consumer intelligence across the enterprise. You will be responsible for managing relationships with industry data providers and analyzing diverse data sets to provide a thorough quantitative understanding of consumer needs and behaviors related to the insurance industry. You will package data and insights into impactful stories intended to drive action within the business and educate the broader marketplace.
- Develop and shape consumer insights practice and elevate insights throughout the organization
- Manage relationships with industry analysts, syndicated research vendors, and other data providers to curate and optimize Lincoln’s consumer intelligence.
- Manage Lincoln’s consumer insights portal to share and promote our own proprietary research, as well as insights and content from our research partners.
- Build scalable and actionable tools that enhance Lincoln’s ability to differentiate itself in the marketplace and drive growth through understanding and leveraging demographic, psychographic and attitudinal data.
- Support initiatives focused on business growth, innovation, and go-to-market strategy and tactics with a solid understanding of consumer trends and in-depth insights about our target customers.
- Synthesize data, interpret findings, and communicate key learnings clearly and concisely to share insights with business stakeholders
- Transform data into compelling visuals to tell a story and support audience understanding of key research insights.
- Present research findings and lead conversations with business stakeholders focusing on how insights can be used to inform strategy and drive action
- Use knowledge of consumers, customers, competitors, and the marketplace to advise stakeholders on business issues
- Synthesize proprietary research findings and third-party data to develop recommendations for strategic action
- Serve as a subject matter expert on cross-functional project teams, leveraging research to present solutions and recommendations to drive business results
- Acts as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, working on cross functional teams within the lines of business and/or enterprise on key initiatives & projects.
- Supports cross-functional teams that include advertising/brand, corporate communications, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), and innovation to identify research questions, and leverage our market intelligence resources to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders, collaborating with stakeholders throughout the process
- Oversee projects with external research vendors, acting as a liaison between Lincoln stakeholders and research vendors, ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables, and working collaboratively with research vendors and Lincoln stakeholders to identify meaningful insights and opportunities for strategic action
- Build relationships and meet regularly with stakeholders (e.g. advertising/brand, corporate communications, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) to maintain a strong understanding of the strategic challenges, and proactively shares relevant insights and consumer trends
Consumer Insights/Research Skills:
- Analyze and synthesize industry data and primary research to provide a thorough understanding of consumer needs and behaviors, create consumer profiles and personas/
- Manage Lincoln’s syndicated research investments, curate secondary data sources, and develop new research to build actionable consumer insights
- Build expertise on various sources of internal/external consumer information and data sources, especially pertaining to elements and characteristics relevant to consumer attitudes, behavior, financial decision-making and product preferences

- 3-5 years of experience in market research, financial services, workplace benefits, and/or marketing/communications
- Experience using data reporting and analysis tools like SPSS, SAS, R, or Tableau
- Experience in data visualization, executive presentation, and story-telling.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in the social sciences (psychology, economics, political science, sociology, etc.)
- Project Management skills
