What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician, Homeless Advocate, Elementary Focus position at Lincoln Public Schools?
The Homeless Advocate (elementary focus) will work with the Homeless Coordinator to provide support and advocacy on behalf of students and families experiencing homelessness. The Homeless Advocate will help students and families connect with community agencies and find best transportation options for school stability. This position also works with various LPS personnel to provide academic and basic support services for students and families experiencing homelessness. This is a grant funded position.
Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Education, Human Services or related fields preferred.
Experience working with students and families experiencing homelessness, near homelessness, and/or students and families facing circumstances of risk. Experience connecting families to school and community supports preferred.
8 hours, 220 Day Calendar
Pay: $19.94 per hour plus generous leave and benefits
