Description/Job Summary
Lindahl Reed is hiring a system Integration specialist to support the Department of Energy’s (DOE) office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The System Integration Specialist supports the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), Wind Energy Technologies Office (WETO) management of its Systems Integration program. The successful candidate will be part of the WETO Systems Integration team, helping develop strategy and initiatives to maximize Federal programming; advise on and support management of federally funded R&D projects; engage with internal and external stakeholders; and support the Systems Integration Program Manager and other WETO leadership on wind integration priorities. The position requires a high level of technical expertise, professional and proficient communication, and a mind for collaboration and continued learning. It requires strong familiarity of transmission and distribution system planning and operation; market, policy, and regulatory structure; and enabling technologies such as power electronics. The position also requires some degree of familiarity with renewable energy and cybersecurity.

Position Responsibilities
- Advise on wind system integration strategies and associated initiatives, including identifying research, development, demonstration, and deployment priorities.
- Assist and eventually lead the development and implementation of new wind integration initiatives.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate relevant project and program information.
- Effectively manage R&D projects according to guidelines, including but not limited to providing technical guidance, approving project plans, and reviewing reports and other materials for publication.
- Draft memos and talking points for WETO, EERE, and DOE leadership speaking engagements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Advanced degree in engineering or related technical field
- 2-5 years of working experience in energy related industry preferably on grid integration and analysis, utility operations and planning, wind power forecast, and any control system background with renewable energy.
- Strong familiarity with utility industry especially in system planning, operation, market, regulatory structure, and policy.
- Familiarity with power electronics, inverter-based resources, and/or cybersecurity
- Professional attitude and a strong team player.
- Professional and proficient communicator that can effectively convey highly technical contents to people with less familiarity in the field.
- Self-starter, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.
- Ability to balance multiple long- and short-term projects and competing priorities.
- Ability to attain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working with DOE on R&D related activities.
- Working knowledge or experience with wind energy.
