Job overview
PST is currently seeking a Buyer. The role will have responsibility for sourcing as a member the Electronic Material’s business. The individual in this role will perform the execution of the sourcing of quality purity metals and raw materials, equipment, and services. This position is also responsible for the day-to-day procurement of raw materials and critical item commodities, alternative sourcing, supplier qualification/development, supplier performance/improvements/supply chain management and identifying/implementing opportunities to lower total cost for the Business. Department also supports R&D and Proposal activities and resulting supplier qualification/development. All processes and suppliers are managed through a rigorous Quality System. This role will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
Primary responsibilities
- Issue purchase orders through Oracle system. Monitor and updated PO delivery due dates.
- Propose suppliers to be placed on the approved vendor list. Support for supplier commercial qualifications.
- Expedite, delivery tracking and reschedule as necessary to meet manufacturing requirements.
- Check order statuses. Issue daily and weekly report.
- Contractor Safety and Insurance program document receipt and management
- Drive supplier compliance projects and renewal/updated cataloging of certificates and documentation
- Clear, professional, and timely communication with all internal clients and suppliers.
- Works with the supplier and accounting to resolve invoice payment.
- Serve as contact for suppliers and various internal groups including operations. engineering and maintenance for creating Purchase Orders.
- May assist in documentation of raw material supply process qualifications
- Procures equipment, materials, services, engineering, and services from approved or newly qualified suppliers at the lowest evaluated cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability, and delivery.
Qualifications
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years procurement experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite, Oracle, or similar system. Excel Analytical Skills
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills required.
- Proven ability work effectively across all levels and functions of a global organization
- Must be a strong team player who can work independently in a complex, technical and international, fast paced environment
- Proven self-management, influencing and leadership skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in the semiconductor environment
- International Trade training in laws, taxation and compliance is a plus
- PMP, CPM certification
- Exposure to working in a rigorous Quality System (IATF)
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification
