My client are a subcontractor Geotechnical engineering company with expertise in Engineering and design, Earth Retention, Sheet Piling, silent press, Specialised foundations in industrial, commercial, infrastructure and the water management industry. They are a small- medium sized family run business with excellent history and excellent benefits. They are looking for a Lead Estimator with Geotechnical engineering experience to join their team in Celebration, Orlando. This is a Great opportunity to work for a very good company on projects between $250 million - $5 million across Florida.
The Job Responsibilities of the Lead Estimator
Performs all estimating duties required during the pre-construction stage.
They are responsible of evaluating projects from a cost perspective utilizing the available construction and engineering industry standards.
This position focuses on the bigger and most challenging projects.
They support the Business Development Department in the pursue of new projects and the Operations Department in the transition from the pre-construction phase to the actual building of the projects.
Analyze requirement documents and project plans and specifications to gain a thorough understanding of the project
Perform takeoffs
Review and submit RFI's in a timely manner
Estimate material, labor & equipment costs
Determine what factors of production will influence the cost of the project
Evaluate and vet suppliers and sub-contractor’s quotes
Participate in bid review meetings
Perform the Estimating/Operation transfers
Participate in the bid & outstanding meetings
Prepare and submit proposals
Interact with clients prior and after bid submittal
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits
Assist in the development of preliminary designs
Peer review other estimators’ work
Attend meetings with Business Development to close projects
The Ideal Lead Estimator will have:
Extensive experience Estimating on Geotechnical Projects
Civil Engineering Degree
Commutable to Orlando, FL or willing to relocate
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Report writing and strategic planning skills
Ability to read and interpret technical documents
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
The Benefits of the Lead Estimator position:
Base salary between $75k-$85k depending on experience
