Our Safety Advisor promotes and verifies all aspects of the Safety program as it is implemented in field operations. You will provide hands on safety inspection, guidance and development to the operational crew members.

Responsibilities
- Ensure that Transmission & Distribution employee safety programs are standardized and enforced
- Ensure Area Field Operations follow all safety and quality policies and procedures
- Discuss all issues involving safety, quality, and compliance in assigned areas
- Conduct incident reviews and provides incident reports and root causes within policy timeline
- Complete internal quality control audits, communicate audit findings to Leadership Team and make corrective action recommendations
- Audit transmission, substation and distribution electrical crews and maintain audit and safety records
- Provide instruction as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Safety-Quality tasks and distribution electrical Trades
- Assist operations in Site Specific Training
- Recommend and ensure additional individual and/ or group training as needed
- Participate in periodic power up/power down and training programs
- Oversee the safety reporting process for assigned area
- Perform other duties as requested by leadership
Education, Skills, Experience Needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of distribution electric experience and/or safety professional
- 7 years experience with advanced safety credentials (CHST or equivalent)
- Electrical lineman background and NFPA 70e preferred
- OSHA 30, CPR/AED First Aid. BCSP certification such as CHST, ASP or CSP and OSHA 510 preferred
- Able to communicate details of safety procedures clearly to employees
- Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70e guidelines
- Provide and contribute to a positive work environment and safety culture
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
Working Environment
- Mobility required in field construction sites, warehouses, and office settings
- Field work sites are outdoors in uncontrolled weather conditions and may be urban or rural settings
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and/or crouch for extended periods of time
- Ability to occasionally lift light to mid-weight objects (up to 50 lbs)
- Work is performed in safe but close proximity to heavy equipment, open excavations
- Working safely requires awareness and sound judgement
- Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary
- Ability to travel within the state routinely and out of state occasionally
- Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Requirements
- Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
