JOB DUTIES

The Human Resource (HR) Manager both directs and performs the functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, whose main objectives are to recruit, hire, retain and support staffing that is at adequate levels, possesses adequate skills and knowledge, and demonstrates the character traits and behaviors required for the Company to succeed. The HR Manager is responsible for tactically executing the Company’s strategic objectives.

 

The HR Manager also creates and maintains employee policies and procedures that ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, as well as contractual obligations.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:

 

  • Supervision, support and development of HR Staff
  • Implementation of plans & initiatives that support Company culture
  • Recruiting and hiring; executing a hiring plan based on Leadership strategies & priorities
  • Establishing and updating pay scales
  • Onboarding and New Employee Orientation
  • Developing and maintaining job descriptions; guiding Managers in employee advancement
  • Annual performance evaluations
  • Employee & Manager support and counseling
  • Employee termination & off-boarding
  • Administration of payroll & benefits, including required documentation & reporting
  • Maintaining and periodically updating the Employee Handbook, and policies & procedures therein
  • Overseeing/conducting employee disciplinary actions and investigations
  • Developing and managing the department budget
  • Developing and maintaining department processes, work instructions and checklists

 

REQUIREMENTS 

Key Competencies:

  • HR management experience
  • Knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
  • Experience with HR information systems
  • Excellent communications skills – written, spoken and listening
  • Flexibility; must be able to prioritize
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have the ability to understand the company’s business, its department interfaces and the nature of individual roles

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • PHR or SPHR Certification or commensurate experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources, at least 2 years in an HR Management role 

 

Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
