Audio DSP Engineer
Location: Cincinnati, OH (preferred) or Remote - US- Eastern Time Zone
LISNR is seeking an Audio DSP engineer with expertise in audio applications to join our growing team! The problems we solve are related to audio transmission and the recovery of data encoded in audio signals. Our core platform targets iPhone-, Android-, and Windows-based apps.

About this role:
- You'll research, prototype and develop DSP solutions/technologies for transmitting data using high-frequency audio, such as microphone arrays, beamforming, AEC, and noise cancellation algorithms in an adaptive fashion
- You’ll iterate on prototypes and guide the design (selecting components, sensors, communication protocols and algorithms)
- You'll be expected to wear a few different hats, with help from a supportive interdisciplinary product team

Required skills and qualifications:
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Signal Processing or equivalent practical experience
- Equipped with deep understanding in adaptive filtering
- Technical and mechanical knowledge in the field, especially as it relates to electrical engineering, acoustics, music, and audiology
- Knowledge of acoustic design methods for speakers and microphones
- Knowledge of adaptive algorithms
- Experience designing and running experiments
- Deep learning / data mining knowledge
- Ability to work well with a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Matlab
Preferred skills:
- MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Signal Processing, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in audio processing
- Previous experience in one or more of the following audio technologies: equalization, dynamic range compression, automatic gain control, noise suppression, acoustic echo cancellation, and microphone array processing
- Knowledge/previous experience with FSK, PSK, and adaptive algorithms
- Experience in developing and optimizing algorithms running on DSP and ARM processors
- Proficiency in other coding languages, like C, C , Python, etc.
