JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Description Summary:

The Branch Manager is the principal leader of a ListenUp brick and mortar location. This position is responsible for all internal and external business operations with respect to the branch and its territory. Duties include sales management of both inside retail and outside smart home market channels, product selection and merchandising, inventory, accounts receivable, building upkeep and maintenance, P&L/expense management, personnel management, and maintaining ListenUp’s legendary customer service and brand.

This individual must be a mentor, manager, and able to lead a 10-15 person team. Individual team member experience will vary from early career to seasoned professional. Personal interest and drive to master contemporary audio/video and integration technologies is a must. This position requires a high level of energy, an entrepreneurial attitude and the vision to develop a successful business organization.

Sales Management Responsibilities:

  • Function as primary driver and business development stakeholder for the branch and its related territory
  • Manage and develop inside and outside sales team:
  • Identify and capitalize on retail and smart home sales opportunities
  • Recruit and develop sales and system design talent
  • Program management of branch’s contracted projects
  • Coordinate technical and sales related industry and vendor training
  • Seek out market opportunities for:
  • Retail sales promotions
  • Smart home system sales
  • Building the ListenUp brand
  • Develop and oversee all sales activities to ensure they are complete, accurate, and profitable
  • Sales opportunity management
  • Create and enforce sales goals and standards
  • Ensure sales leads and opportunities are properly assigned
  • Cultivate relationships with related industry stakeholders, contractors, architects, interior designers, and others whose partnership would positively impact branch performance
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of profitable sales activities across all sales staff members
  • Establish professional relationships with vendor sales and sales engineering personnel
  • Act as primary stakeholder and branch authority in all customer service situations

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Branch profit & loss responsibilities

  • Personnel overhead
  • Inventory management
  • Accountable for all branch inventory assets, fixed assets, and property
  • Inventory ingress, egress, and return on investment
  • Showroom displays and demonstrations
  • Manage all branch personnel in accordance to ListenUp policy
  • Oversee branch financial reporting, data entry and daily procedures
  • Plant and property maintenance and upkeep
  • Competitive participation in the annual ListenUp spring cleaning event
  • Store merchandising
  • Participate in brand and model selection
  • Curate store displays and demonstration product
  • Oversee and facilitate all communication between branch and corporate management teams
  • Facilitate and coordinate company events and marketing efforts
  • Support and implement strategic company objectives

This individual must be a mentor, manager, and leader:

As a Mentor, this individual must:

  • Identify industry best practices and inspire the team to support them whenever possible. This individual will also work as part of a larger ListenUp team to develop new processes and procedures.
  • Set expectations for standards, quality, and metrics within the local team.
  • Provide ongoing training and example setting for direct reports, recognizing that knowledge is the most powerful in the hands of a team.

As a Manager / Developing People:

  • Manage people and work within ListenUp policies and procedures. At ListenUp we believe the development of team dynamics is critical to individual and organizational success. A core objective of this role will be to allow certain operational freedoms that do not extend past the boundaries of the organization's policies and procedures.
  • In addition to the mentoring portion, this individual must understand each individual’s strengths and weaknesses and structure work/teams to optimize output and personal growth while reducing company risk.
  • Empower sales staff with design best practices, documentation, and the delivery of technical know-how to potential and existing customers.
  • Maintain a consistent sales and technical training program that is held in high esteem.
  • A successful candidate will be proactive in addressing customer needs and constantly seek new and more efficient methods to achieve this goal.
  • Utilize the project management and team leadership skills such as scope management, budgeting, customer reporting, subcontractor and 3rd-party coordination, scheduling and task definition, and operational efficiencies.

As a Leader:

  • Participate in cross team and cross business unit brainstorming.
  • Build relationships with peers and managers in other organizational units.
  • Be a vocal contributor as to the direction and decision making of the broader ListenUp team.

As an Individual Contributor:

  • Participate in the sales process and assist all sales team members with the appropriate level of guidance. This requirement will range from high level technical support up to and/or including the mentorship of junior sales personnel to ensure each customer receives a consistent level of system design and customer service.
  • This person must be able to “jump-in” and contribute to any activities that are deemed mission critical for the continued success of the branch and the greater ListenUp organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Needed Skills and Experience:

  • Great communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Good management skills including track record of managing technical and sales employees
  • Solid track record of success in the residential consumer electronics industry

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Desire for a long-term career and commitment
  • Intelligent, innovative, and creative personality
  • Maintains a high standard of integrity & professionalism
  • Adept at building and cultivating relationships
  • Consultative sales approach
  • Excellent computer and contemporary business software skills
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand, present and demonstrate products and services to customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful record of retail and/or custom integration firm management
  • Retail and/or custom integration sales experience
  • CEDIA and/or InfoComm Certification
  • Highly motivated with a proven track record of selling consumer electronics
  • Four year degree in business, communications, STEM, or equivalent experience
  • MBA or Advanced STEM Degree

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
