Do you want to hone your teaching and leadership skills in a professional environment? Adult Basic Education (ABE) instructors help adults learn basic reading and writing skills to prepare them for their GED or High School Equivalency exams. ABE Instructors help adults compete in the workforce with the tools of literacy and education. Classes are typically small, with one-on-one instruction common.

Our term of service lasts for 11 months as a full-time position to serve the communities around you. The Texas Family Literacy program offers constant mentorship to hone your teaching abilities as well as other professional development training - such as Trauma-Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing. Finally, once you complete your term of service you will receive the Segal Education Award, for $6,495. The education award can be used to pay off student loans or to pay for future schooling.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $1,500.00 per month
