Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Review performance data (Sales, Gross Profit, and Expenses) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress, and activity levels.
  2. Inventory control including ordering merchandise, mark-up and mark-down, plu specials, and known loss.
  3. Determine and meet staffing requirements.
  4. Develop staff to maximum potential.
  5. Monitor staff performance including performance reviews.
  6. Evaluate store appearance and delegate work duties to staff accordingly.
  7. Ensure all pricing and signage is up and correct.
  8. Maintaining awareness of market trends and monitoring local competitors.
  9. Customer Service
  10. Resolving health, safety, and security issues.
  11. Responding to customer complaints and comments.
  12. Count and secure all monies from safe to bank.
  13. Responsible for employees checking up on camera.
  14. Responsible for reporting any camera or security failure.
  15. Communicating with supervisor on a regular basis via e-mail or phone.
Requirement of the Job
  1. Be able to read, understand, and write the English language at the eighth grade level.
  2. Be able to perform arithmetical calculations at the eighth-grade level in order to be able to make change, complete shift reports, and account for a variety of products during vendor check-in.
  3. Be able to perform basic computer functions such as e-mail, data entry, word processor, and etc.
  4. Be able to have sufficient visual acuity to check identification and process money orders.
  5. Be able to read and understand instructions for operating electronic cash register and all other equipment.
  6. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry cases of milk cartons, soft drinks, beer, juice containers, and etc...
  7. Be able to stock shelves and coolers.
  8. Be able to react to a fire by lifting a fire extinguisher weighing 15 lbs. and moving it to the fire area.
  9. Be able to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
  10. Be able to climb a ladder and work off of it.
  11. Be able to sweep and mop floors, dust shelves, and lift and carry trash containers to place in an outside bin.
  12. Be able to clean the parking lot and grounds surrounding the store.
  13. Be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of -10 degrees up to 5 minutes at a time.
