What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sous Chef position at Little Maven?
Little Maven, a new restaurant concept by VCR Group, is seeking an Executive Chef to join our team!
The sous chef will oversee all aspects of the culinary program including training, staffing, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality excellence. The sous chef will ensure that all personnel and systems function efficiently so that guests are satisfied, inventory stocks and pars are developed and followed, ordering is organized and service is executed to the highest standard.
Our ideal sous chef will posses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- 1-4 years experience in a similar role, at a comparable restaurant in volume and style.
- Ability to train cooks, give direction, and lead the team by example.
- Strong problem solving skills and can work every station in the kitchen.
- Can manage ordering, receiving, rotating, inventory management, scheduling, facilities management, and a robust financial understanding.
- Familiar with industry trends and NYC food safety protocol. Possess an NYC Food Handlers card.
- Comfortable with working in a fast paced kitchen, able to lift 50lbs, and work in a standing position for the duration of their shift.
- Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, nights, closes, and oversee the restaurant when the Executive Chef is not around.

Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
