What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at Little Scholars?
Position is either Full Time or Part Time. Little Scholars has been a household name in the community for over 27 years, educating and developing the intellectual, social and emotional growth of young children. We have a position for a lead teacher. Ideal candidate must be responsible, nurturing and conscientious to provide a safe and enriched classroom environment. Incorporate age appropriate activities to encourage language, social, emotional and physical development. Must be soft spoken, organized, caring, nurturing and talented in preparing fun and exciting activities. Must work collaboratively with staff members in a very congenial and fun environment . Qualifications include either a bachelors degree, a two year associates degree, or a CDA and experience working with children. Professional language skills to interact with parents. Punctuality, responsibility and professional attire are required.. The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Present lessons in a comprehensive manner.
- Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning.
- Assess and record students’ progress and conduct teacher/parent conferences.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
- Collaborate with other teachers and parents.
- Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities
- Observe and understand students’ behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
- Develop and enrich professional skills.
Skills
- Proven experience as a teacher
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
- Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills
- Well-organized and committed
- Creative and energetic
- Strong moral values and discipline
- Knowledge of CPR
- Degree in teaching or in a specialized subject with a certificate in education;
