Insomniac produces some of the most innovative, immersive music festivals and events in the world. Enhanced by state-of-the-art lighting, pyrotechnics and sound design, large-scale art installations, theatrical performers and next generation special effects, our events captivate the senses and inspire a unique level of fan interaction. Throughout our 20-year history, Insomniac has produced almost 400 festivals, concerts and club nights for over 4 million attendees in California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New York, Texas, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom, with expansions into Brazil, Japan and India. Insomniac’s premier annual event, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, is the largest multi-day music festival in North America, and attracted more than 400,000 fans over three days in May 2019. The company was founded by Pasquale Rotella, and has been based in Los Angeles since it was formed in 1993.
THE ROLE
As a Web Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually engaging and accessible web experiences for desktop, tablet, and mobile. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize web-based solutions that generate interest in Insomniac’s products, marketing campaigns, events, and properties. Your role is critical to presenting the Insomniac brand on the web in novel and unexpected ways while maintaining a focus on accessibility and UX best practices. This is not a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design visually engaging and accessible experiences for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
Partner closely with cross-functional teams to create alignment on messaging and overall solutions
Present Insomniac on the web in visually stunning ways while maintaining a focus on accessibility and UX best practices
Engage in constructive design critiques
Deliver and present prototypes to cross-functional teams
Have an opinion and participate in healthy debate on product and design decisions
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience designing and prototyping in Figma. (Origami, Framer, or similar experience a bonus)
Experience with motion design and tools (e.g., After Effects / Lottie)
Deep knowledge of UX best practices, patterns, and requirements
A strong design portfolio demonstrating knowledge of interaction design, responsive layout, typesetting, and motion
Able to work independently and drive multiple projects at a time
Embrace an iterative design process and are receptive to feedback. Progress over perfection
Expert knowledge in a11y best practices
7 years of work experience
4 years of application, visual, and interaction design
4 years experience with HTML/CSS/JS and collaborating with backend developers
Preferably experience designing software for entertainment, media, gaming
Portfolio of work examples required

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
Must be willing to travel to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
