The ideal candidate must have good computer knowledge, great organizational skills, attention to detail, positive attitude, and a team player. The ideal candidate also must have experience in Urgent Care or family practice Accounts Receivable.
This role responsible for various facets of medical billing and accounts receivable including charge entry, payment posting, customer service and follow-up in accordance with company protocol with an emphasis on maximizing patient satisfaction and profitability.

Job Summary & Responsibilities
- Reviewing EOBs for possible denials, coding corrections, claims follow up, A/R reports
- Assigning codes correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations.
- Follows up on designated insurance claims to resolve outstanding balances and to reduce AR days.
- Complying with medical coding guidelines and policies
- Receiving and reviewing patients’ charts and documents for verification and accuracy
- An overall responsibility for billing services rendered for all clients to all payers including Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial, and state funders
- Research and rectify third party denials and rejections, requests for information and other related correspondence
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Certified in Coding is preferable but not required
- Must be certified by AAPC or AHIMA
- Proficiency with Google, Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Minimum one year of prior billing experience working in a medical office is required
- Experience billing private insurance and managed care organizations, insurance credentialing is a plus
- Excellent phone etiquette, verbal communication and listening skills is a requirement
- Must be detail oriented with focus on quality and accuracy with documentation
