Requirements
Valid state issued driver’s license with clean driving record
Customer Service Skills: responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers
Interpersonal skills including tact, patience and compassion
Ability to follow multiple pending requests through to completion
Work independently with initiative and little supervision
Maintain confidentiality
Must be able to read and interpret Mortuary policies, procedures, contracts and customer files such as interment right records
Effectively present information to family members, co-workers and management
Able to work on a rotating, on call schedule
Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of management, the Removal Technician is responsible for the care, removal and transport of human remains in accordance with all state, local and company policies and procedures
In addition to removal duties, this position may perform various services and client relations activities, while establishing and maintaining effective communication.
Performs removals of deceased from hospital, nursing home or residence to transport to funeral home.
Maintains and ensures removal vehicle is clean inside and out and is properly maintained
Maintains a friendly attitude while offering assistance and guidance to all persons
Perform tasks requiring intermittent bending, lifting, standing and walking
Sustain frequent movement of the fingers, wrists, hands, and arms
