What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afternoon/Evening Daycare Assistant Teacher (Preschool, Part-time) position at Lizz's Place Childcare Center?
Lizz's Place is a small, family-oriented childcare center located in Deerfield, MI. We utilize play-based learning to help our children excel!
We are currently looking for a part-time afternoon assistant in our Preschool (ages 3-5) room. This position is a closing shift, and candidates will be expected to have consistent availability from midday to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position works directly with the owner of the facility, who doubles as the lead teacher in the room. A good candidate will be someone who is:
- Easy-going, but can work in a fast-paced environment,
- Able to follow direction given by the lead teacher,
- Experienced in working with children under age 5, and
- Willing to follow the provided daily schedule, all rules and regulations provided by the State of Michigan, and policies of Lizz's Place
An ideal candidate is someone who is able to meet the qualifications of a good candidate and also either has, or is willing to obtain, their Preschool CDA.
Job duties include (but are not limited to):
- Care for children of all ages
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for children to learn and play
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Help children learn and assist in important skills such as dressing/changing, toilet needs, good eating habits, and respecting others
- Light to moderate cleaning in the classroom and center as a whole
- Follow the daily schedule and activities provided by the lead teacher, even in the lead teacher's absence
- Follow all daycare policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all children

- Candidate is 18 years of age
- Candidate has a high school diploma or GED
- Candidate is able to pass a background check/fingerprinting done by the State of Michigan
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
