What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Manager position at LKQ?
Oversee all aspects of parts distribution including but not limited to:
- Organization of inventory at distribution hub.
- Coordinate shuttle system between the hub and all full-service locations.
- Manage efficient delivery routes.
- Responsible for meeting distribution budget for plant.
- Responsible for assisting the region meet distribution budgets.
- Responsible for hiring and terminating employees as applicable.
- Negotiate pricing for shipping supplies.
- Oversee all fleet vehicles.
- Including warehouse equipment.
- Responsible for dispatching employees and duties.
- Responsible for warehouse employees and duties.
- Responsible for cross-dock operations.
- Other duties as requested by PM/GM.
Basic Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong ability to manage multiple employees. Proficiency with computers. Inventory abilities. Warehousing skills.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs or less.
- Work environment can be hot. Must be prepared to stay hydrated.
