If you are an adaptable and organized Mold Setter that loves working on a highly skilled team, this is the position for you!
Job Overview:
This is a skilled position that supports production by installing complex molding dies into electronically controlled molding presses in our plastics plant. Requires making adjustments of the press and dies to produce quality products.
Daily Duties:
- Remove die from storage area and deliver to the molding press.
- Mount the die into the press and adjusts the die to produce quality parts.
- Use hand tools and measuring instruments to establish safe operations and tolerances.
- Adjust the molding press with regards to pressure, stroke fee, material flow injection and temperature. Refer to prints and set-up log sheets for determining specifications.
- Perform basic routine maintenance and "troubleshoot" production problems to repair or replace broken parts.
- Upon completion of production, remove molds for return to the storage area. Operate power forklift and cranes.
- Complete accurate reports pertaining to production, quality and scrap.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and measuring devices.
Required Qualifications:
- Able to be trained and certified as a forklift driver and operate cranes.
- Must provide own tools within 30 days of start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in industrial automotive industry.
- Three years of hands-on experience in plastic molding and/or die setting, preferably on automated electronically controlled presses.
