As the QE you will have responsibility for alignment of process & product quality on this critical program. This position requires a strong understanding of Quality/Product Assurance and the ability to adapt to program needs. You will be a driving force to guide technical decisions to systematically shape the system design and drive design evolution. The Quality role demands you to be an independent & objective judge of product performance, being the authority to ensure compliance with system & program requirements. This position works closely with Navy counterparts to develop, test, and field a strategic system and to ensure Quality Program Plans are documented, current, and effectively implemented. The engineer will ensure proper flow-down & trace of requirements for the program life-cycle. Additionally, you will recommend influential program performance metrics and drive their implementation with the ability to identify adverse trends, understand/identify risks, and drive effective corrective action.

You will be the assigned QA team member to a critical program IPT. As an integral part of the program team you will forge a strong working relationship with all program personnel including, Program Manager/Director, Systems/Software/Specialty Engineering, Operations, Material & Process Engineering, Configuration Management, and various internal/external customers. The development of strong relationships amongst the team will be fostered by attending and participating in key meetings, providing proactive assistance to Engineering Managers/Leads up-front, and being an advocate for the QA organization. You will also contribute by adding program value, be an experienced problem solver, able to identify problems (with solutions) early, provide open communication, and project the QA organization as one that provides risk mitigation to the program & customers. The development of relationships in this role is critical to overall program communication in support of effective risk mitigation. Throughout the program life-cycle, you will be expected to support Corrective Action Board (CAB) activities and lead cross-functional improvement projects to drive program cost down and overall value up.

This position is based in Englewood, CO, and may require up to 20% travel.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.)
• Strong quality processes experience or experience in a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with DoD, DCMA, and/or other government customers to build effective relationships.
• Ability to conduct/coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments.
• Ability to travel
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and US Citizenship required.
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated experience supporting program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, etc.) as a QA or engineering point of contact with an understanding of a program life cycle.
• Prior experience working with Mechanical Systems or Missile Body Systems (Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance and/or Controls).
• Experience in a Program Start-Up environment or a development program, inlcuding Project Planning.
• Experience defining a requirements and verification baseline, and of QA oversight of implementation.
• Experience with Supplier Quality tools and processes, SAP/ERP, and EPDM.
• Prior experience with Material Review Board (MRB).
• Quality Engineering experience with working knowledge of AS9100-based Quality Assurance Program Plan; familiarity/knowledge with Quality Assurance Requirements with various commodities (i.e piece parts, subassemblies/module, assemblies, etc.)
• Green Belt Certification, with commensurate experience in applying and using this toolset.
• An understanding of the LM Configuration Control process.
• Experience participating in or conducting QA reviews including CABs, Corrective Action Plans, and Continuous Improvement projects.
• Ability to interface with program planning to manage the QA portion of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP).
• Demonstrated experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies and in developing preventive quality corrective action plans, identify, and drive systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative, qualitative analytical capabilities to clearly communicate to others in a concise, data driven manner.
• Working knowledge of Cost Account Management (CAM).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to promote and champion an inclusive and collaborative teamwork environment that supports differences and encourages big-picture thinking. • Master’s Degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $91,300 - $175,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
