Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and motivated Systems Engineer Summer Intern to join the Geospatial Technology (GT) program team. The candidate should be passionate about satellite imagery, geospatial data, mapping, and the stories, information, and answers that can be extracted from them. The candidate should know how to work with a wide variety of imagery and GIS tools, manipulate satellite imagery, and import and integrate geospatial data sources to create clear and compelling elevation or imagery-based material. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, is forward-thinking and adaptable to changing technologies and should be energized by collaboration and storytelling through data visualization.
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursing a degree in geography, GIS, remote-sensing or a related field
• Develop and test new geospatial production pipelines
• Prepare high quality geospatial graphics, tools and material for internal and external use
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Must be US Citizen
Desired Skills:
• Ability to understand and create clear and compelling interactive and static visualizations of complex geospatial data concepts – make the complex simple
• Photo interpretation/imagery and elevation analysis skills and ability to produce high-quality imagery graphics from satellite imagery
• Strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow through skills
• Comfortable with geospatial visualization tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS and/or Global Mapper

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
