What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independent Coordinator position at Lodge Nursing & Rehab Center?
BASIC FUNCTION
The Coordinator is responsible for the management of admissions and to assist in the daily management of residents residing in our Independent and Independent Plus Apartments. This includes, but is not limited to, the provision of planning and organizing, developing and coordinating tours, relocation of residents, communicating of relevant information to other departments, interpreting facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures to resident and their families, marketing and community relations.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
- Communications:
- Responsible for communicating in a positive manner with residents and their family member/responsible party in the resolution of problems related to the admissions process. Participate and communicate with community service and civic groups and businesses. Develop, schedule and guide tours through the facility. Responsible for communicating information with administrator, department heads and facility staff to facilitate a smooth flow of services related to admissions.
- Documentation:
- Responsible for the completion of all admission and relocation documentation and the distribution of information upon admission and during residency as required by the facility and any other regulating organization i.e. State Fire Marshall, etc. Assist with promotional publications, newsletters, etc., as necessary. Maintain an accurate and descriptive supply of brochures and other printed material. Make written reports/recommendations regarding resident and community relations. Report and maintain a record of expenses to be approved by the Administrator and submitted monthly to Accounting.
- Policies and Procedures:
- Responsible for completing and maintaining facility policy and procedures.
- Resident Rights:
- Responsible for maintaining and interpreting all resident rights.
- Environment:
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment. Responsible for creating a calm, supportive and caring environment for residents and staff.
- Safety and Sanitation:
- Responsible for complying with all safety and sanitation procedures including universal precautions.
- State and Federal Regulations:
- Responsible for compliance with state and federal regulatory licensure and certification requirements.
- Quality Improvement:
- Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an on-going quality improvement program for the Admissions Department. Develop and implement appropriate plans of action to correct deficiencies.
- Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- In-service and Workshops:
- Responsible for attending in-service programs, educational workshops and meetings as required to maintain professional license and enhance professional growth.
Qualifications: Education:
Must be a graduate of accredited college or university.
Experience:
Two years experience in long term care.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
