LMI seeks a Local Property Officer/Vehicle Consultant to support a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) management office in the National Capital Region. Responsibilities

The Local Property Officer/Vehicle Officer (LPO/VO) is responsible for the accounting and safeguarding of mobile assets, and for overall accuracy of the information recorded in the automated information system.  The LPO/VO plays a significant role in managing the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) mobile assets fleet.   

 

OTHER DUITES INCLUDE: 

  • Ensuring the accurate recording of all vehicles in the automated information system. 
  • Ensuring the delivery of automated information system data, such as current odometer reading at time of fleet card purchase, to the invoice certification officer in a timely manner if electronic recording does not occur at the time of acquisition. 
  • Ensuring the completion or creation of all notifications and work orders in the automated information system to capture all mobile assets maintenance and repairs performed at both commercial and CBP facilities for both planned and unplanned maintenance, regardless of cost. 
  • Assisting in initiating requests and coordinating with the government customer the necessary arrangements with the state mobile asset authority for the issuance and use of state license plates. 
  • Assisting in initiating DHS-plate requests for CBP vehicles and ensuring the correct attachment of each set of DHS-plates to the vehicle. 
  • Ensuring compliance with the fleet management regulations, policies, and procedures for acquiring mobile assets by gift, donation, exchange/sale, interagency transfer, forfeiture and retention, and commercial and GSA lease. 
  • Ordering, renewing, accepting delivery, assigning, canceling, and reporting lost, stolen, or missing fleet services cards, as required by the CBP Fleet Card Manual. 
  • Maintaining a complete file of reports for all assets that are lost, damage or destroyed. 
  • Ensuring mobile asset titles reflect CBP ownership unless use of the vehicle is for undercover purposes. 
  • Ensuring the proper processing of mobile radios in excess going through the disposition process. 
  • Assist in directing the USBP motorfleetprogram, including establishment of USBP procedures for management, maintenance and use of fleet motor vehicles, support equipment and facilities.  

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
  • 5  years of experience in a Government Property/Asset /Motor Fleet Management discipline or a  Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of the U. S Government Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application and use of federal fleet management databases or other federal asset/property management databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic mission driven environment.
