Shared Services: Philanthropy Alumni and Donor (Full-Time, Day Shift) -
Job Summary: The Manager-Philanthropy Communications is responsible for managing the philanthropy communications strategy and implementation for communication channels including digital and print. Works proactively with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistent and effective brand communication efficiently and accurately for coordination of campaigns and outreach by audience. Oversees and contributes to the writing of cases for support, proposals, review and support for grants, and writing for areas that support Loma Linda University Health priorities. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or related field required. Minimum three years of experience in communication strategy development or related required. Minimum one year of donor or client centered communication experience preferred. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to develop compelling stories required. Knowledge of donor engagement and philanthropic communication strategies preferred. Strong collaboration and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize effectively. Able to handle confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals. Knowledge of LLUH philanthropic priorities and relevant developments with the ability to acquire and maintain said knowledge. Strong attention to detail skills. Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., MS Office) and various communication platforms. Able to operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others with patients, donors, students, alumni and deans. Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, video conferencing and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
