LIU Hudson, a Regional Campus of Long Island University, located in Purchase, NY, invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Director in Literacy K-12 with appointment to begin in Fall, 2023.

Basic Functions and Scope of Responsibilities .
Duties of a faculty member include : teaching graduate level courses. Participating in accreditation, outcome assessment and academic program review efforts, providing students with appropriate course and career advisement, and engaging in recruitment activities.
Duties of a Program Director include: scheduling of courses, hiring and overseeing adjunct faculty, collaborating on Recruitment and Marketing projects, and maintaining and enhancing partnerships with school districts and non-public schools.
Teach an 18 Credit workload each year including fall, spring and summer.. Advise and mentor teacher education students in Literacy K-12 special education.
. Monitor education trends both regionally and nationally, and remain current, in Literacy K-12.
. Serve on the Academic Oversight Committee , and other faculty committees, both standing and ad hoc, to address academic matters.
. Attend regular faculty meetings and participate in LIU Hudson and University-wide events.
. Participates in outcomes assessment planning preparation if academic program reviews, accreditation efforts, and the submission of new programs and program r revisions to NYSED as needed.

Education Requirements .
An earned doctorate in Literacy K-12 or a related field.
Advanced ABDs considered with a detailed timeline for degree completion.
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience.
Experience in graduate level teaching.
Knowledge of such frequently used technologies as brite space, blackboard, zoom etc.
Ability to balance excellent teaching, scholarly pursuits, service and program administration.
Creative problem solving and collaboration skills, and a respect for collegiality needed to build a positive relationship within LIU Hudson.
Evidence of a minimum if two years of successful teaching K-12 teaching experience.
Working Conditions: Office and classroom environments, year round position.
