Farmers Market Sales Specialist

Long Meadow Ranch has an exciting opportunity to join our culinary farm team as a Farmers’ Market Sales Associate.

Long Meadow Ranch is a family-­owned and operated producer and purveyor of world-­class wine and food that is economically successful and socially responsible, using diversified, sustainable, and organic farming methods. We produce award­-winning wines, handcrafted extra virgin olive oils, grass­-fed beef, eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables.

The Farmers’ Market Sales Associate will assist with our offsite and onsite Farmers’ Markets, from set-up to take down. We are looking for a dynamic individual who has a passion for organic produce and grass-fed beef, and a passion for cooking. This individual enjoys developing customer relationships and is driven to provide the best customer service for the LMR brand.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and loading of produce, meat, eggs and other products  for transportation to the farmers’ markets
• Assist with set-up and take-down of farmers’ markets for on-site and off-site markets
• Perform the market sales and provide superior customer service
• Educate consumers and develop strong customer relationships
• Maintain a clean and effective farming environment that is visited by the public
• Harvesting, washing, packing and sorting of fresh produce and eggs

Education, Experience and Requirements

• Passion for organic farm production, farmers’ markets and local food
• Background in direct to consumer sales, engaging customers and closing sales
• Must be available to work Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 AM - 2PM
• Passion for food and cooking, and knowledge of fruits, vegetables and flowers
• Must be a team player and get along well with other team members and market vendors
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Strong work ethic, organizational skills and integrity
• Demonstrated track record of achieving results in a very dynamic work environment
• Valid California driver’s license with 5 years of experience and must maintain a clean driving record
• A pre-employment background check is required
• Ability to work in various settings including outside and in inclement weather 
• Ability to work on different ground surfaces and in rough and uneven terrain
• Ability to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects
• Ability to repeat the same movements throughout the shift
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and twist body
• Ability to lift 50 pounds 

Compensation and Benefits

• This is a full-time, hourly position Tuesday - Saturday.
• Part time opportunities also available on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
• The Company reasonably expects to pay in the range of $18 to $22 for this position. Of course, this is depending on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, and business or organizational needs. This wage range may be modified in the future. 
• Full-time positions provide company sponsored medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off and 401(k).
