Job Description
Longbridge Financial is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager. This remote role will be reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting. The Accounting Manager is a proactive, disciplined and engaged problem solver who is eager to work alongside like-minded stakeholders and who is willing to grow with LBF. This vital role supports the finance and senior management teams, and is responsible for month-end close processes, bookkeeping, financial reporting, preparing account reconciliations and communicating the results of operations for relevant reporting periods.
Primary Job Duties:
- Manage reporting to investors and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee Senior and Staff Accountants, Accounts Payable and Treasury Accountant.
- Manage warehouse lines for compliance with covenants.
- Analyze general ledger activity on a regular basis to ensure all transactions are properly classified.
- Meet Longbridge Financial’s monthly close deadlines.
- Prepare month-end journal entries.
- Understanding and oversight of inter-company guidelines/deadlines for transaction processing, confirmation, and reporting.
- Prepare account analyses and reconciliations on a timely basis.
- Prepare month-end financial reporting.
- Recommend areas for improvement in profitability and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5 years of related experience, preferably in the banking and/or mortgage industry.
- SOX and internal controls experience.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks.
- Excellent project managerial and interpersonal skills.
- Public accounting experience. CPA a plus.
- Excellent understanding of US GAAP and other business fundamentals.
- Team player, customer service oriented and strong work ethic.
- Self-reliant, ability to manage time and deadlines independently with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent software skills – General ledger systems such as QuickBooks and other integrated accounting software tools.
- Excellent in Microsoft Office products – very high level of Excel required.
- Experience in mortgage software products preferred but not required.
