General Function:

Create an encouraging, safe, and supportive environment for the team while placing the needs of our guests at the forefront of all we do.

Job Summary:

· Oversee Longe Optical’s in-house, all-digital lab ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines while leading a team of seasoned technicians in the production of high-quality eyewear.

· Serve as a contributing member of the lab team while leading daily activities to ensure that production meets high quality standards and adheres to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Be responsible for driving results and identifying opportunities for process and efficiency improvements.

· Train, coach, develop, and help motivate members of the lab team to achieve high performance. Work cross-functionally to ensure that all lab output and activities support the highest levels of service for our guests, and that all safety/regulatory requirements are either met or exceeded.

· Demonstrate strength in appropriately delegating work functions to team members, prioritizing goals and individual development, and ensuring that all lab techs are cross trained on all lab equipment with an eye toward the long-term success of both the lab and its team members.

· Responsible for identifying underlying reasons for recurring lab issues, uncovering root causes and developing long-term solutions.

· Perform and track regularly scheduled machine maintenance to ensure that all lab equipment is clean and in working order. Address immediate equipment issues with Longe Optical’s General Manager.

· Assist in controlling inventory shrinkage by monitoring and recording breakage/other issues.

· Assist General Manager with recruiting and retaining lab staff members.

· Perform annual performance reviews and continuous coaching conversations with all team members.

Qualifications we are Seeking:

· 2 years optical lab experience is required.

· 2 years management or supervisory experience required.

· Strong mechanical knowledge with ability to maintain, diagnose, and repair specialized equipment.

· In-depth knowledge of optical lab machinery and eyewear production processes.

· Proficient in the use of optical lab management software.

· Guest focus – you genuinely enjoy making guests happy and take ownership for guest satisfaction.

· High level of integrity and ability to lead with character.

· Strong organizational skills; excellent attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in an environment that is continuously changing.

· Active listening, effective communication, and adaptive interpersonal skills.

· Collaborative and able to foster open communication and a positive team environment.

· Fearlessly approaches challenges and works hard to achieve goals and objectives and solve problems.
