The MSC Specialist provides timely, accurate and appropriate assistance to the MSC Coordinator and Dir of Risk Management in the area of managed care and medical staff credentialing. The role enables the facility to provide access efficiently to medical staff providers within the guidelines and regulations of the Joint Commission, state and federal agencies, the facility Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, and hospital policies. The MSC coordinator will maintain medical staff and managed care files, develop and utilize a system for processing of appointments and reappointments under the supervision of the MSCC and the DRM, and assist with clerical duties. The role must be able to communicate well with physician offices, managed care sources and hospital stakeholders.
Education:
Some college Preferred
Preferred Experience:
3 years experience in credentialing, hospital medical staff coordination and/or similar setting
1 year experience with clerical duties
Proficient with email, web based system applications, computers, fax, scan, and other common office technologies including the most current versions of Microsoft Office or Google Suite
Managed Care credentialing
Medical Terminology is a plus
