Logistics Clerk Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Logistics Clerk to join our team. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, you will coordinate all daily customs clearence shipments. You must be extremely organized and able to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of customs procedures is also required. We prefer candidates who have at least one year of experience as a Logistics Clerk, but we are willing to train someone who has work experience in shipping and distribution.

Prepare customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of goods. Determine and track duties and taxes payable and process payments on behalf of client. Sign documents under a power of attorney. Represent clients in meetings with customs officials and apply for duty refunds and tariff reclassifications. Coordinate transportation and storage of imported goods.

Logistics Clerk Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and verify shipment orders
  • Track shipments and input data into the company system
  • Respond to customer service requests when necessary
  • prepare customs documents

Logistics Clerk Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate; associate degree preferred
  • Must be able to multitask and work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Friendly and helpful phone demeanor
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to cumunicate both english and spanish

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $14.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Commission pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Laredo, TX 78045: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • customs clearence: 1 year (Required)
