Primary Purpose of this Position
Director of Youth and Family Ministry - This individual will promote faith formation in youth grades 6-12, by working to create a sense of community and belonging by empowering youth, their mentors and families to engage our purpose: “Love All, Serve All, Welcome All as Christ”

Responsibilities
1. Plan and facilitate programs aimed at building a community of faith where youth are valued and belong. Engaging youth, their mentors and their families in the life and ministry of the congregation, including but not limited to mission trips, service projects, camping ministry, discussion groups and fellowship.
2. Regularly attend events of LOLL youth within the community, connecting with parents and supporting the youth.
3. Develop and evaluate new initiatives to empower youth and their families in sharing their faith.
4. In coordination with the pastors, facilitate confirmation program by teaching, training small group leaders, attending confirmation camp and retreats
5. Coordinate youth and family ministry working with the Team of Youth and Family Ministry and consultation with staff.
6. Develop and manage the annual budget for youth and family ministry with the associate pastor and Team.
7. Promote the congregation’s youth and family ministry in the community at large.
8. Attend weekly staff meetings.
9. Regularly meetwith pastors for planning and coaching.
10. Maintain a balance between regular office hours and evening/weekend work.
11. Participate in the worship life of the congregation.
Other Expectations
· Continuing Education: Complete annual CE and seek out opportunities to be mentored/coached by experienced youth ministry professionals.
· Care of Self: Appropriate time should be allocated to maintain a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
· Community Involvement: Seek out opportunities to become an active, involved member of the area’s youth ministry community.
· Synod Involvement: Participate in and encourage youth to participate in Western North Dakota Synod and churchwide youth activities.
· Teamwork: Work cooperatively with pastors, staff, and congregational leaders to fulfill the Lord of Life mission.
· Complete other duties as assigned by the senior pastor and/or the Executive Team/Council.
Compensation
This position is part-time of 25 hours per week with the expectation of growing into a full-time position. Benefits include paid time off, continuing education allowance and mileage reimbursement.
