What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Coach position at Loretto?
Overview:
The Employee Coach will partner with key contacts in Recruitment, Human Resources, Education and others to help employees navigate through challenges, support career growth and work to improve employee retention and satisfaction. The Employee Coach will serve as a coach and mentor, working proactively with employees running into conflicts, looking for resource assistance, and can provide support to ensure a positive transition into employment, remove barriers and extend employee tenure.
Responsibilities:
Job duties specific to this position:
- Counsels employees to proactively anticipate and address issues (workplace and personal) that could limit effectiveness at work
- Working knowledge of the social services system, pubic welfare and domestic and family law programs that provide support.
- Partners with education team to coordinate employee orientation and training as needed.
- Liaison between employees and management to address employee complaints/ concerns
- Assists employees in navigating through personal challenges and accessing outside resources.
- Serves as a liaison between employee and human resources to address scheduling challenges.
- Partners with employee engagement team in the implementation of retention initiatives.
- Facilitates positive transition for graduates of trainee programs into permanent employment.
- Assists in gathering qualitative retention data by conducting and analyzing employee surveys, exit and stay interviews.
- Identifies internal obstacles/ barriers which could limit employee success; develops recommendations to management and human resources to address same
- Coordinates employee networks/committees to implement solutions
- Acts as an employee ambassador for staff to ask questions and provide feedback
- Supports business partners in ensuring the onboarding process is welcoming, thorough and incorporates the company culture
- Determines gaps where additional supervisor/management training is needed
- Identifies operational/system changes that help adjust to a shorter-term workforce
- Supports innovative opportunities for advancement and career paths for workers
- Implements recognition and appreciation programs across the organization
- Improves the employer brand outside the organization within the community

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field. Masters preferred
- Minimum 4-6 years' work experience in social services, social work or case management
- With demonstrated coaching or counseling skills, focused on employee engagement and workplace assimilation
- Experience in a social services and case management environment preferred.
- Experience in working with community resources such as social services, public assistance, family court.
- Understanding of the social services programs and procedures
- Demonstrated analytical skills, to support evidence-based decision making and recommendations
- Proficiency with Excel or comparable analytical/ reporting tool
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel in the local area as needed.
- Demonstrated problem solver, supporter of continuous improvement
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent public speaking skills.
- Proven multi-tasking capabilities.
- Must have a diplomatic demeanor to effectively resolve conflict
