Overview
The Floorcare Crew is responsible for the cleanliness and floor care of general areas, as well as resident rooms. Crew members will be assigned to work in areas throughout the building according to cleaning frequency schedule.
Responsibilities
Job duties specific to this position:
- Scrubs, cleans, strips and refinishes flooring in general areas and resident rooms based on manufacturer specifications.
- Spray buffs tile floor areas including rooms of residents.
- Vacuums and shampoos carpet throughout facility.
- Extracts carpeted areas, as assigned.
- Removes refuse from building.
- Removes and re-hangs privacy curtains and draperies. Removes furniture as indicated.
- Cleans stairwells.
- Cleans light fixtures, fans, and sprinkler heads.
- Cleans ceiling tiles and ceiling strips.
- Washes windows and screens as assigned.
- Replenishes paper products for housekeeping closets and nursing units.
- Maintains a safe work environment at all times to avoid slips, trips and falls.
- Operates floor scrubbers, side by side machines and other related equipment.

Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or ability to pass a written TABE test.
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
- Ability to follow simple oral and written directions.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to lift or move heavy objects required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, talk, hear, see and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
SCOPE & TYPE OF SUPERVISION:
Supervised by Housekeeping Supervisor and accountable to Evening Supervisor after normal business work hours.
