Telecom Technicians (Levels 1 & 2) - Dallas, TX
We are looking for Telecom Technicians in Dallas, TX. These positions offer opportunities for entry-level candidates with general field construction or cabling experience, as well as Technician II level candidates with at least 1 year of low-voltage and cabling experience in the telecom industry. Pay is based on experience, and travel within the Dallas region is required.
Job Overview:
Technicians will be responsible for assisting with the installation of DAS systems in the field. Entry-level candidates will receive on-the-job training to develop the skills necessary for DAS construction and testing, while more experienced candidates will take on a lead role in guiding installations and ensuring quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow directions from the Field Manager or Lead Technician.
- Work as part of a team to string coax and fiber cable.
- Install antennas and equipment as directed.
- Transport materials to and from job sites.
- Learn or perform Coax and Fiber cable pulling and terminations.
- Perform or assist with fusion splicing and fiber optic testing.
- Utilize basic computer skills for project documentation.
- Operate cable sweep testing equipment and understand basic test processes.
- Gain or demonstrate knowledge of frequency bands, protocols, and telecom terminology.
- Additional for Level 2:
- Assist in directing technicians and apprentices in DAS installations.
- Ensure daily installation quality and adherence to project schedules.
- When needed, conduct site walks for small venues and retail stores and document findings.
Requirements:
- For Level 1: Any type of field construction or cabling experience is required.
- For Level 2: At least 1 year of low-voltage and cabling experience in the telecom industry.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Physical ability to carry tools, materials, and ladders; climb ladders; lift up to 50 lbs as needed; and perform daily tasks required by the role.
