Position Summary | Department of Medicine – Section of Rheumatology at The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Medicine in New Orleans is seeking an outstanding physician to join our faculty. The Section Chief will be responsible for advancing the clinical, teaching, and research programs in the Section, as well as for mentoring fellows and section faculty members. The Section of Rheumatology consists of four (4) faculty members and has a fully-accredited subspecialty training program for 4 fellows. The department is looking for the incoming chief to re-establish clinical research programs and expand its core faculty in the upcoming years.
LSUHSC School of Medicine is currently expanding its relationships with its private clinical partners. The new University Medical Center (continuing the tradition of Charity Hospital) in New Orleans has been open since 2015. The incumbent will have an academic faculty appointment at the LSU School of Medicine at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and record of academic achievement.
