What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAMP COUNSELOR – SEASONAL position at Lower Southampton Township?
Lower Southampton Township is seeking applicants for Seasonal Summer Camp Counselors. The primary purpose of this position is to motivate, conduct, and lead camp groups to stay on task with a variety of daily recreation activities, arts and crafts, sports and games. To ensure the health, well-being and happiness of campers.
The duties include but not limited to recognize and respond to opportunities for group problem solving, encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilities. To set a good example for campers in all areas, including cleanliness, punctuality, rules and sportsmanship. To observe camper behavior and assess its appropriateness. Notify Camp Director if behavior is not corrected and is unacceptable. Communicate regularly with Director regarding concerns, updates, recommendations and challenges.
Work is performed outdoors. Must be able to work in outside weather conditions and tolerate a variety of changes in temperature.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills and the ability work well with a variety of ages and skill levels. Must be able to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Experience working with children preferred but not required.
Salary depends on qualifications.
Upon offer of employment – Camp Counselors are required to submit satisfactory pre-employment federal and state mandated clearances. They need to be received within 14 days of accepting the position.
