LPA is seeking a Specifications Director. The Specifications Director will be an essential leadership position within the Project Delivery Practice at LPA. As the Director of the specification writing discipline within LPA the Specifications Director is responsible for directing the development of the team, workflows and tools necessary to create and document written project specifications. This is accomplished through collaboration with firm leadership, other directors within Project Delivery and designers to facilitate the creation of specification that fully represent the integrated nature of our design process and importance of sustainability necessary to design high performing buildings.

\n- Oversee and manage the day-to-day specifications process and team.
- Develop and manage master specifications for all practice areas and project types (including firm, discipline, sustainability, and quality specific content) using BSD SpecLink Cloud as the primary software and basis of content.
- Collaborate to develop firm wide specification writing strategy and process.
- Develop, document, and communicate workflow best practices.
- Engage integrated design teams with development of integrated specifications.
- Develop tools for the specification process including templates, etc.
- Collect quality and quantity metrics pertaining to the specification discipline.
- Research, evaluate and recommend emerging specification best practices and tools.
- Professionally represent and promote LPA within the industry and externally.
- Work experience in a medium to large sized architectural, engineering or construction firm or a small to medium sized specification writing company.
- Knowledge of (competency with preferred) BSD SpecLink Cloud.
- Expert competency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Intermediate knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proven ability to thrive in highly collaborative environments.
- Proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects.
- Ability and willingness for limited travel.
- Ability to establish and model positive, constructive, collaborative leadership.
- The development of a firmwide strategy and process, including workflow best practices, for specifications.
- The development of a team (of other spec writers) to support and implement the firmwide process.
- The performance of quality review(s) of specifications.
- The integration and coordination of specifications prepared by disciplines and/or consultants.
- Planning operational budgets and purchasing within the specification writing discipline and in collaboration with Practice leadership.
- The development and management of master specifications and templates for all practice areas and project types.
- The development of specification content including company, discipline, sustainability and quality specific content therein.
- The development and monitoring of quality and quantity metrics and improvement goals.
- The operational effectiveness of the team.
- Professionally represent and promote LPA within the industry and externally

- Integration of BSD Speclink Cloud with REVIT
- Research, evaluate and recommend emerging specification best practices and tools.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $135,000 and is eligible for annual bonus. If you are hired at LPA, your base salary is based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience and/or project complexity.
