Job Summary
As a HVAC service technician at L&S, you will repair and calibrate systems, and replace various components. You will diagnose problems, explain these to customers in clear, non-technical terms, relay costs to customers, and offer alternative solutions. You will order and collect parts once customer gives approval and communicate with supervisor regarding challenges. Your customer skills should be as good as your technical aptitude, and you need to be well-versed in safety precautions. Top candidates are detail-oriented, organized, and friendly.
General Responsibilities
- Perform warranty and service work to diagnose, repair or replace broken residential HVAC parts and equipment,
- Initiate start-ups for new residential HVAC equipment,
- Utilize iPad/tablet to enter service call solutions for customer files and to acquire daily service call schedule for reviewing and planning efficient workday routes and
- Work alongside industry experts to expand trade knowledge and experience.
Qualifications
- 3 years prior HVAC service and start up experience for the residential construction industry,
- EPA licensed to start up new HVAC equipment – Universal preferred,
- Valid driver’s license,
- Able to pass background check and drug screen and
- Perform the physical demands of the position: working in indoor and outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow); climbing ladders and steep stairs, crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching; able to routinely lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds, and pushing and pulling of objects.
