General Characteristics:
The Machinist will assist with scheduling and routing of jobs in the machine shop. This will include programming, set-up, and operating of CNC machines and manual machines. This position will assist in the manufacturing of parts and assemblies according to specifications and quality standards.
Duties:
- Use Mastercam to program 3 to 5-axis mills and mill-turn lathes
- Utilize CNC and manual machines to fabricate parts according to specifications, required tolerances, and quality standards.
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce components
- Ensure parts are finished by deburring, polishing, and other means as needed
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable materials to management
- Perform inspection of machined parts to ensure they meet quality and tolerance specifications
Requirements:
- 5 to 7 years of experience with CNC Machining
- 5 to 7 years of experience with manual machining, milling machine lathes, grinders, drills, etc.
- An Associates Degree in Machine Tool Technology is preferred
- Must have the ability to perform general shop mathematics and utilize OD/ID calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments to maintain and check for the quality of the finished product
- Requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, job specifications, and prints
- Have the drive and ability to provide high-quality products with attention to detail
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience utilizing Mastercam software is an absolute requirement
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing/walking, with the ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Capable of programming, setting up, and operating CNC and manual milling machines
- Ability to load parts into CNC Machine of up to 30 pounds
- Capable of using hand, electric, and pneumatic tools
- Requires constant pushing, pulling, standing, reaching, grasping, bending, and stooping

Clearance Requirements/Work Authorization:
