Summary:
The role of Manager, Equipment Design is to develop and manage the equipment design strategy, manage the Equipment Design team, guide external design resources, develop and maintain processes to consistent implementation of MOCs, IOT onboarding, on time availability of equipment design drawings. Regular collaboration with Manager, Equipment Fabrication, Field Service Managers, Sales, and IT, as well as other stakeholders, to ensure the Equipment Design team meets stakeholder and business needs. Receives functional guidance from the Manager, Equipment Services. Role is not limited to the listed responsibilities and includes additional duties, both specified below and as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Equipment Design team and processes, including standard packages, to ensure designs meet business needs, are safe to operate, and capable of highly reliable product injection; provides skid drawing packages and updates as requested by the Equipment Fabrication team
- Ensure equipment designs meet applicable codes and regulations
- Provide technical support for injection equipment program to the business, including addressing work orders, skid orders, design requests, and various presentations
- Provide and maintain effective injection equipment procedures and technical documentation, including function test documents and skid manuals
- Drive continuous improvement projects for injection equipment to make LSPI injection equipment designs best-in-class offerings, including close collaboration with Equipment Fabrication and Equipment Reliability teams
- Participate in marketing and business development projects for successful execution of new product development efforts
- Provide injection equipment training to new hires, customers, and others
- Manages direct report(s). Responsible for performance reviews, promotional decisions, and pay actions for support and professional levels.
- Manage injection skid IOT program, including installation designs, DAB onboarding process, technical support, and reporting
- Manage various third-party vendors to augment the capabilities of the Equipment Design team
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or civil engineering
- Seven or more years of applicable industry experience (such as oil and gas or pipeline operation)
- Strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated operational or process engineering experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate, present, influence, network, and deliver on commitments.
- Planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects involving competing priorities simultaneously.
- Problem solving; creativity to find alternate solutions to traditional approaches.
- Ability to travel to skid fabricators, material suppliers, LSPI business locations, injection sites, customer offices, etc. as necessary (estimated 5-20% travel)
Preferred Skills Competencies:
- Electrical and Control Systems design and troubleshooting experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer or EIT Certification
- Experience managing a team of technical professionals
- Creative & innovative: must be able to see the big picture while being mindful of the details.
- Understanding applicable equipment requirements/standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.)
- Familiarity with CSA and UL inspection requirements
- Familiarity with SAP, Maximo, PowerBi, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Cross-functional work skills (research & development, manufacturing plant and raw materials & equipment vendors).
