Luciano’s Excavation is a family -owned excavation company based out of Taunton, MA. Luciano’s has been in business for over 11 years and has completed various multi-million-dollar projects across the New England area.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of shop. As a Shop Manager for our excavation company, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our equipment and maintenance facility. Your primary focus will be to ensure the efficient functioning of the shop, manage equipment maintenance schedules, and coordinate with various teams to support the company's excavation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills, coupled with a solid understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and safety procedures.

Job Duties:

· Coordinating and managing the scheduling of mechanic services for the entire fleet of equipment to ensure timely and efficient maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

· Managing and responding to service calls from clients and internal stakeholders to address equipment-related issues promptly and efficiently.

· Overseeing the procurement of parts, actively managing inventory levels, and ensuring a well-maintained stock of necessary components for equipment repairs and maintenance.

· Schedule and supervise routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of heavy machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

· Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment to ensure the availability of necessary resources for maintenance and repairs.

· Procure and restock supplies as needed, maintaining accurate records of inventory levels.

· Lead and supervise a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff.

· Enforce and promote a culture of safety within the shop, ensuring that all employees adhere to safety regulations and procedures.

· Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination between shop activities and ongoing excavation projects.

· Communicate equipment status, maintenance schedules, and any potential issues to relevant stakeholders.

· Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements where possible.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.

Essential Skills:

· Proven experience in equipment maintenance, with a focus on heavy machinery used in excavation.

· Strong leadership and managerial skills.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the excavation industry.

· Excellent organizational and communication skills.

· Familiarity with inventory management systems.

· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
