What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator for Controls Calibration Team Fleet position at Lucid Motors?
We are seeking a Development Coordinator to oversee the Chassis and Controls teams' fleet of prototype vehicles and help coordinate a full calendar of development test trips. This role manages software and hardware updates, coordinates schedules, and tracks vehicle configurations to ensure a fleet of around 30 vehicles is prepared to take on an ambitious development schedule. This role also books time at test sites across the world and plans transport for vehicles and components. Candidates should be motivated to learn, well-organized, and work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Manage software configurations on fleet vehicles, including requesting over-the-air updates and supporting them through their installation. There is an opportunity to learn how to manually update software vehicles and perform basic troubleshooting skills.
- Manage hardware configurations, repairs, and instrumentation for vehicles. Help prototype technicians plan work on vehicles around a busy schedule, then document and track completion.
- Work with groups around the company to procure replacement parts for vehicles and track the location of special tuning components.
- Maintain the calendar for all vehicles in the fleet, coordinate test requests on vehicles, and prioritize work.
- Book and coordinate with test facilities, race tracks, and proving grounds throughout the world.
- Plan and execute shipments of vehicles, components, EV chargers, tires, etc. to development sites across the world. Including booking transport by air, ground, or sea, raising purchase requests, preparing components and vehicles for shipment, filling out trade compliance documents, and following up throughout the transport.
- Work with company fleet managers to track/handle vehicle paperwork, including insurance, registration, license plates, etc. for the team fleet.
Skills
- Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and concisely in conversation, meetings, written messages, and presentations.
- Some experience in the automotive industry preferred but not required.
- Experience coordinating complicated activities, especially in the automotive or motorsport industry.
- Experience with global logistics, including shipping, purchasing, trade compliance, etc.
- Ability to balance deadlines from multiple stakeholders and effectively prioritize competing resources.
- Opportunity to learn basic software and hardware troubleshooting, how to flash software, etc.
- A positive attitude and excitement for working with a dynamic team.
- Passion for streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
- Ability to think quickly to repair or upfit cars that experience issues during test trips and need quick turn-around.

Educational Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. Technical degree preferred, but open to candidates from any background who are motivated to learn.
