Principal Solution Architect - Remote

The Role

This role requires knowledge and skills in both Information Technology (IT) and Business. The incumbent must have experience in multiple Software Environments and be comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems environments. They are often highly seasoned senior technocrat who has led multiple projects through the Software development process or Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and has usually performed in a variety of different roles in that life cycle. The person needs an ability to share and communicate ideas clearly, both orally and in writing, to executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language that is the parlance of each group. This role will bridge the gap between IT and the business.  Consult with the business, help the business with defining business requirements, and then turn those requirements into IT requirements.

The Main Responsibilities

• Understanding Solution Architecture, Systems engineering, and Software engineering to provide input to and support the development effort of a systems solution.
• Responsible for the development of the vision that underlies the projected solution and transforms that vision through execution into the solution. Becoming involved with a project at the time of inception and involved in the Functional analysis (FA) of developing the initial requirements. Remain involved throughout the balance of the project as needed.
• This role influences and supports which technologies to use. They work very closely with developers to ensure proper implementation. They are the link between the needs of the organization, the architects, and the developers. They provide continuous communication and current update to executives regarding status, gain leadership responses as required and ensure their input as it relates to the project goals.
• Drives solution projects.
• Leads the Center of Excellence to talk about initiatives and ensure solutions are being worked, answer any questions, etc.
• Contributes to the development of functional strategy; leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives.  Recognized as a subject matter expert outside the company.
• Contribute to the development of the strategic business plan and work effectively within the team to achieve planned goals/objectives.

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience. Typically with 12 years related experience or 10 years related experience with Master's degree
• Strong ability and track record to bring and lead changes in large-scale development efforts
• Extensive experience with managing programs implemented desired.
• Experience leading others in a large, highly complex, and ever-changing organization.
• High level of comfort managing competing priorities, crystallizing ideas and thoughts into plans and activities, handling ambiguity constructively, and rationalizing on strategic and managerial levels.
• Able to build relationships with business and technology partners to influence and collaborate across the organization, strengthen the role of IT, implement initiatives and plans, and deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency, and accountability and holds the same standards for the department. High achiever, results-oriented, and decisive hands-on manager with strong project management in a technology environment and business acumen.
• They should have hands-on experience in multiple systems solutions across several disciplines.
• They should possess skill and understanding of a variety of Operating Systems. A broad and deep understanding of legacy telecommunications software (CRIS)and current telecommunications systems is also required.

 Preferred

•  Master’s Degree with 8 year’s experience with 3 years of managerial level experience
