What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Psychologist - Disability Assessments for the VA (DBQ) position at Lumos Psychology LLC?
Providing Disability Assessments Nationwide while Serving Our Veterans
Description
Flexible Schedule No Treatment Competitive Compensation
We are looking for a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to perform clinical diagnostic interviews of US Veterans as part of the VA’s disability benefits program. The interviews are conveniently scheduled to be performed at your own office/private practice.
In completing Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) reports, you will interview Veterans, review the searchable and already bookmarked electronic behavioral health records, and submit a report on VA-provided worksheet (DBQ) outlining the Veterans' presenting diagnosis and level of impairment. Most common clinical presentations are PTSD, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and Insomnia. The reports will be completed and submitted through a secure web portal.
The Licensed Psychologist DOES NOT make disability determinations. The U.S. Veterans Administration makes all disability determinations, in part using the findings recorded in the DBQ report you submit.
This role ONLY performs diagnostic interviewing and records review. You will NOT treat veterans, and you will NOT prescribe medication in this position.
Experience in completing DBQ's is a plus but not required as all necessary training will be provided.
Schedule
This is a highly flexible position. The typical Licensed Psychologist in this position will review and assess between 3-5 Veterans per day, on average. Generally interviews take 45min-1hr and involve documentation and reporting, which usually takes another 30-45min.
This is an Independent Contractor position. As such, you set your own schedule and provide it to us to be filled. Veterans can be scheduled during normal and extended business hours (M-F 7am-5pm) and on weekends (8am-3pm), including Sundays. Reporting and documentation can be done at your own time, but reports have to be submitted within 48 hours of the appointment. Although specific volume is not required, we encourage providers to perform at least 6 assessments per week, with no upper maximum. A clinician that dedicates themselves full-time to this position could have an exceptionally competitive income.
This can be a part-time or full-time position.
This is an IN-PERSON position and interviews will be performed at your own facility which must be located in the Cincinnati, OH area.
