The Lutheran Care Network is seeking a full time Controller to join the Network's central management team in Scarsdale, NY. The Controller is responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions, including journaling and account reconciliations. The ideal incumbent will possess strong accounting skills and work with a meticulous attention to detail.
A high degree of accuracy and an ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines is imperative for employment in this position.
Past experience in a health-care or not-for-profit setting is preferred. Must have a working knowledge of Quickbooks Online.
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree Required in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field. MBA preferred.
- 5-10 years experience accounting, or finance background with management supervisory, financial, auditing and operations experience preferably in a healthcare or not-for profit environment.
- Computer skills: MS Office, Word, Excel, Quickbooks Online a must.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- General Ledger management-Trial Balance, P&L, etc.
- Ability to oversee and drive monthly accounting cycles, including generating and preparing financial reports, which summarize and forecast financial activities. Risk Management
- Competency in tax issues
- Ability to develop annual operating budget
